Error after change of domain name

My domain name was not correct and I changed it. Now I get following error

Can I fix this problem? If yes how.
Or would it better to install NethServer new.

I recomend to add the information that the domain name is like shoo.net or bird.lan. This wold minimse the risk to do it wrong.

Please cut & paste the relevant part of /var/log/messages.

If you can’t find it, execute:

 expand-template /etc/dnsmasq.conf

Then grab the last 20-30 lines of the log.

i’ve made chandge for two times , all things is done .
@WillZen enable testing repo and update nethserver-base

@giacomo

I don’t see any relevant error here.

Does the expand-template command raise an error?

@Nas Sorry. I don’t understand what I should do.

@giacomo

How should I execute this? The GUI has no command line.

You must access the server using SSH or via keyboard.

Ok. I can sit in front of my server and execut the command but I have a problem to get the result to my computer.

The SSH was mentioned in a earlier post but I have also no glue does it works.
Sorry. I have only litle knowledge in working on the command line. This is the reason to use NetServer with the GUI :smile:

@giacomo I hope I did no mistyping

yum --enablerepo = nethserver-testing update nethserver-base

@Ns
Should I do this from the command line?

yes login thouhg ssh and paste yum --enablerepo=nethserver-testing update nethserver-*

IMVHO, before trying to update your server with a package in testing area, I will dig into the problem to understand and recognize it…

otherwise we’re just adding another variable to the system

moreover, OP is unconfortable with CLI (and reading other posts from him, with many aspects of servers and IT); we all should take this fact in the right way.

@WillZen: no intention to be rude, but I strongly suggest you to do some studies and tests (google will help you with “how I access ssh server from a pc?” and so on)

@zamboni fisrt of all we need to know his revision of NS packages!
next we should run it on testing server , and debug with our knowledges! not user knoweledges!
i’m ready to setup Virtual mashine !

I really can’t figure out where is the problem.
Make sure the green interface is correctly configured.
Then try to enable/disable the DHCP configuration and check if the error persists.

I totally agree.
Do NOT update a system from testing repository unless you fully understand what you’re goiing to change.
And @nas, please do not suggest his bad behavior :smiley:

to know his package version we don’t need to update anything

so, instead of asking people to yum update from testing repo, just ask them to do

rpm -qi packagename

thank you

one of my nethserver in production

interesting… but we need info from OP :wink:

@zamboni
I did google for SSh and found a instruction. I will set it up.

From my point of view I got the impression that the NethServer should be for smal bussines where someone handle the server. The GUI make it easy to maintinace the server and do the daily work. Everthing is fine until you have a problem. Than you are lost with the manual becaus you need Linux and hands on IT knowledge to solve the problem.
Why you don’t add this information in the manual or the HowTo section?
For me who didn’t get this experience during his work and other newbies have first no idee what you are mean with this kind of comment.

Could you be so kind and explane to me what the shortcut IMVHO is. I will add it to the shortcut list in the FAQ.
