I would like to ask for a new module for the education section: Xerte online Toolkits.
Xerte is a webbased authoring tool with which you can create interactive lessons that can be used in an ELO (electronic learning environment) like Moodle.
From the Xerte online toolkits websoite:
Xerte Online Toolkits is a server-based suite of tools for content authors. Elearning materials can be authored quickly and easily using browser-based tools, with no programming required. Xerte Online Toolkits is aimed at content authors, who will assemble content using simple wizards. Content authors can easily collaborate on projects
A lesson created in XoT, can be eihter HTML5 or Flash. Default is HTML5.
There is a small downside: you must have an account on the Xerte website to be able to download the software. In the ZIPfile that is downloaded a small howto is included.
You will need a webserver + a db engine (mariadb is ok) and at least php5.1
Create a virtual host for the application.
I have an older version of XoT running on a server at a primary school in Belgium. It is used to create interactive lessons that are imported in Moodle.
It would be a great asset if we could add XoT as a module for nethserver.
After install, you can access Xerte through https://yournethserver/xerte and the admin interface through: https://yournethserver/xerte/management.php
Here is a screenshot of the settings I have on the live server (adapted to NS). I think the Samba AD bind needs to be added!
