Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender - related to hylafax

I have an issue with following email related to hylafax:

This is the mail system at host host.online.de.

I’m sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It’s attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster.

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.

               The mail system

faxmaster@host.online.de (expanded from ): host
host.online.de[/var/run/dovecot/lmtp] said: 550 5.1.1
faxmaster@host.online.de User doesn’t exist:
faxmaster@host.online.de (in reply to RCPT TO command)

User is existing.

Anybody an idea where/how to investigate?

Trying this approach:

Follow up:

There was no entry in /etc/aliases for the FaxMaster. I manually added

FaxMaster: root

regenerated the aliases and, voila, error is gone.

Maybe it helps someone.
