Tested NethServer7 beta1 ISO unattended install into a virtualbox VM.

Report → Web Proxy Stats menu opens a new instance of UI in iframes, as reported by @Vodka

Edited: no need to remove iframe lines. It was due to genRandomHash() and empty lightsquid alias in the database.

Status → Applcations → Lightsquid OPEN button link broken (points to ‘/’)
Seems $info['url'] var from /usr/share/nethesis/NethServer/Template/Applications.php does not get a value from $cweb['alias'] in /usr/share/nethesis/NethServer/Module/Dashboard/Applications/Lightsquid.php as the db configuration lightsquid alias is not set.
The lightsquid alias is not set because genRandomHash() from /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/httpd/admin-conf.d/lightsquid.conf/10base failed, as the function was removed from util.pm in this commit.

Not looked into it but this might also affect other packages using this function.

The “mystery” is solved: Intel, Microsoft and also Community Nethserver, I think have DNS registrations only for www.intel.com, www.microsoft.com, www.community.nethserver.org.
So, intel.com, microsoft.com and community.nethserver.org will not respond at ping.

ntopng service unable to start
same problem as @vodka

Starting ntopng: /usr/bin/ntopng: error while loading shared libraries: libzmq.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

@vodka proposed linking the library, and it works:

ln -s /usr/lib64/libzmq.so.5 /usr/lib64/libzmq.so.4

It is an upstream_bug.
P.S. ntopng shows there is a new version:

@nethserver-statistics installation error caused by missing genRandomHash() function (same problem as with squid). Affects the Graphs section as @Vodka reported.

I can’t reproduce for now, but I will try again later. (Thanks also to @dnutan).

The user shouldn’t be allowed to switch from one user provider to another (like from OpenLDAP to Samba 4), but we do not have any way to achieve this. Any suggestion?

Samba 4 (like Windows) is case insensitive. The user is always force to create a valid username in unix style, but you can use it also with capital letters.

NS is a single-domain machine, all users belong to the same domain which is the FQDN of the server.

Virtualhosts are user domain are completely separated. Of course, you can have multiple domain names pointing to the same server to serve multiple web sites (and mail domains).

I will try to reproduce it, if you have time, please post the output of “shorewall check” command.

Did a clean install from iso in a virtualbox, then all updates.
Same issue with user again like before, but if i create a user on console and try to add a user in Servermanager it works suddenly!
@jgjimenezs can you try if that is the same in your installation please? Just do adduser on CLI and then try to create a user in servermanager.

On dedicated server doesn’t appear.
I will check on VM.

I tried again on dedicated server, with a real FQDN, to edit self-signed certificate.
Doesn’t work.

If it helps, tried yesterday to set the fields from console (config/db commands) and it worked. The problem lays on the UI, I guess.
The logs showed there where no new values even when the fields where populated:

These warning are present also on NS 6. The fix is a lot of code compared to the benefits: I fear to introduce bugs only for muting warnings displayed once.

I need to dig a bit, but I agree with you: those warnings can be ignored.

It’s an upstream bug, just cosmetic (but really annoying).

I did some tests, the warning doesn’t prevent the correct usage of ntopng.

I just went to check in “real life”, not on VM, fake FQDN, …, because I saw that on Virtual environment, issues may occur.

trying to use nethserver-sogo with the nethserver-dc I couldn’t authenticate.

/var/log/sogo/sogo.log shows the following lines:
ERROR ... NAME:LDAPException REASON:operation bind failed: Strong(er) authentication required (0x8) INFO ...

Issue is apparently a security patch for Samba4 which now needs the line:

ldap server require strong auth = no

added to the smb.conf to be able to do plain text binds. See https://www.samba.org/samba/latest_news.html#4.4.2.

As per http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.groupware.sogo.user/24783, I fixed this by modifying the file in the nsdc container:
`# systemd-run -M nsdc -t /bin/bash

cd /etc/samba

sed '7 a\

    tls priority = SECURE192:+SECURE128:-VERS-SSL3.0\
    tls enabled = yes\
    ldap server require strong auth = no

’ smb.conf -i`

Maybe this new line can be included in next release.

Yes, updating from the nethserver-testing to v1.0.1-1.4 works for me. You guys are ahead of me (did check the git for nethserver-dc but not the dev which I now learned contain the issues )!
