Multi DC for AD

Hi all,

I’m trying to configure a secondary DC with NethServer on a remote site, the final goal is to log in AD with the secondary DC, or to log in the second one if the first is faulted.

I’ve tried with a node joined in the primary cluster, used as provider (in fact, this use the VPN ip for the connection from windows, as I read here)

Now I’ve also created a node which is not joined in the cluster, and I’ve imported my AD as external.

Is possible to do what I want to do, or there are limitations?

It’s possible to have a provider replica but GPOs are not synced, see also User domains — NS8 documentation

The node needs to be joined to the cluster to be able to store the provider replica.
