The machine learning model-cache was included in backup but it’s not needed so I removed it to save backup space.

Nice! I also really like the mobile app. It allows me to auto backup all mobile camera pics, video’s and whatsapp images/videos.

We don’t use relative paths so we’re not affected by the “breaking” change.

Here is the v1.136.0 testing, the update worked for me.

Install:

add-module ghcr.io/mrmarkuz/immich:1.0.4-dev.1

Update:

api-cli run update-module --data '{"module_url":"ghcr.io/mrmarkuz/immich:1.0.4-dev.1","instances":["immich1"]}'

Works for me, upgraded. No issues in the logs, normal behaviour. Will await backup tonight.

Here’s the new 1.137.3 testing version. The update worked without issues.

Immich is continiously receiving updates and thus new releases. We don’t need to be on the latest and greatest, but I am not sure how many releases we can skip to be able to upgrade to the latest?

Just thinking out loud.

Please don’t get me wrong, it is just the pase of updates and releases of Immich is insane, so keeeping up with that is madness. Hence my thinking on when do we really need to upgrade.

Usually minor updates shouldn’t be an issue but you’re right, there could be some point where the direct update isn’t easily possible anymore.

It’s not a big effort to update apps, renovate is very helpful and opens PRs when there’s a new update, see for example Update ghcr.io/immich-app/immich-server Docker tag to v1.140.1 by renovate[bot] · Pull Request #12 · mrmarkuz/ns8-immich · GitHub
