Connect for what purpose? If you want to back up to them, relatively easy, as I’ll describe below. If you’re wanting to serve information on the NAS via applications on the NS8 installation, rather more complicated, and performance would be awful. But for backup purposes:
- Set up a free account at tailscale.com
- Follow their instructions to install Tailscale on your NS8 system
- Install Tailscale on your NAS
- Now your NS8 and your NAS are on the same network
- Create a SMB share on the NAS for the backups
- Set up a backup on NS8 to that SMB share
