Are there any (representatives of) resellers active on these forums?

dude … I’m done.

I still don’t get what you want, you know?

And besides, if I’m a reseller and I want to shout it from the rooftops or keep it to myself, what difference does it make to you?

You have a product that’s 99% open source and fully usable, unlike so many other projects where open source is used as a lure and the rest is paywalled.

You have developers actively involved in the community, unlike so many other products.

There are community members who’ve been hired by the company thanks to their skills and contributions.

And you keep complaining about how the community is run?

Start your own project or buy shares in the company, become the majority shareholder, and run the company however you like.

Or the door is always open, no one’s stopping you.

Thanks Nico, I think you’re talking on behalf all the resellers.

I won’t speak for others—I’m speaking for myself.
If other resellers agree, that’s fine, but this is my opinion.

Hey, I was just asking. What a hostility! Says a lot about the digital heroes.

I’ve asked a simple question, only 2 people responded. What is your problem?

No, you didn’t just ask
You started questioning whether there were more or fewer partners and why they were in “incognito” mode rather than public, whether there are two communities (and yes, one is just for partners and is in Italian, where they discuss more specific topics and offer installation help), and whether this community is “run” by Nethesis management
Don’t try to “turn the tables” and play the poor victim

Why should I have a problem? I continue to not understand, my sentence was just a clap for @saitobenkei

Laylow, I’ve already told you this once, and I’m telling you again.

The way you raise certain issues is not constructive. It often comes across as implying criticism rather than fostering discussion, and that kind of attitude does not help create a positive environment within this community.

If you have proposals, make them.
If you want to contribute something, do it.
If you have doubts or concerns, raise them openly.

I’d also like to remind you that the people who spend time here do so in their free time. They help others, share their knowledge, and contribute because they are passionate about what they do. There is a company that makes the source code of the products it develops available (since it strongly believes in OSS culture), developers and system administrators who contribute their time and expertise every day, and NethServer and NethSecurity users who actively participate and support one another.

All of these people have one thing in common: they want a healthy, positive, and constructive environment where discussions can take place with mutual respect.

What is not acceptable is an attitude that is hostile or disrespectful toward those who contribute to this community. If I see this behavior again, I will have to take further action.

If you are not willing or able to help create this kind of environment, then I suggest you stop and consider whether this is really the right community for you.

Duh? A yellow post, does that mean anyting??? Can’t handle the heat? What is wrong with your attitude?

I will consider your kind advice. And since you seem to be not able to handle issues that are important other then making threats, I will discuss it with Cristian.

Who the heck do you think you are bozo?

Incorrect.

I have seen this reaction many many times over the years. When the or a community memebr strikes against hairs, not ‘complying’, or is addressing an issue, the whole company goes wild and and refers to self invented ‘rules’ and sanctions. Reminds me bit of the unchosen ’ EU leadership’

Nevertheless, instead of trying to silence me, please address the real issues.

For expample, why are there no timely (not internal) updates from the ns repos?

The question about repository update timing is already being discussed in another thread, so it would be better to continue that discussion there.

More generally, this is not a matter of “company versus community” or “us versus them.” A healthy community depends on constructive discussion, even when there are disagreements. The goal should be to raise issues, exchange information, and help improve the project while maintaining a positive environment for everyone.

As for the “rules,” they are neither self-invented nor applied selectively. They have been publicly available for years and apply to all participants. From time to time it is useful to revisit them:

Criticism, questions, and feedback are always welcome. What is expected in return is that discussions remain respectful and aligned with the community guidelines.

Please cut the crap and address the real (security) issues at hand. School is over, just get to it please.

The security concerns are being discussed and investigated. Where updates are available, they are shared in the relevant threads.

Discussion of technical issues does not exempt anyone from following the community guidelines. Respectful conduct and constructive feedback are expected from all participants.

Davide, please be transparent, so many questions, such vague answers. Simply post the procedure, after all it is a community, not a confined solitude company.

I took a look. Seriously? this crappy post commands me what to do? I can ask anything but not anything? Seriously? Get a life!

I am glad I am not a digital hero!

Just because you make up some stupid ‘rules’ in an idiot post does not mean you ‘own’ the community.

Everybody saw it, you crossed the line. Discussion is over. I’m sorry account suspended.
