Hello @alefattorini .
Congratulations on your subscriptions Announcement.
I believe and understand you have taken alot of considerations While coming up with the Pricing Plans.
MY questions on subscriptions would Mainly be covering mostly the EMEA region, which mostly where we Operate.

For 97 Euroes, Why wasn’t a single Ticket Offered. for the PErsonal Plan
For 297 Euroes, Why wasn’t 3 Ticket Offered. for the Tickets for Business.
Also, why is Automatic cloud backup not available on the business plan?

i see the subscription page for nethserver has also been updated.

So that means, for a PErsonal Nethserer + nethsecurity, the subscription will be 120+97 = 217
and for business
320+297 = 617
Per server
if both nethsecurity and nethserver are on subscription

Hi

I’ve already payed for a subscription, but will this now change? And in which

Now it is mentioning EOL ?? For Nethsecurity8

At the moment we can’t offer it, it could change in the future.

I understand your concerns, take a look at similar projects and you will find that these prices are good
Subscription is not mandatory, community version is open source and free forever

We can migrate it to the personal plan

Is it possible to build our own signature for the DPI?

@alefattorini

If I want to upgrade from Crostino to PersonalNethserver, instead of the difference of 48 euros net to 120 euros net (72 euros net)
the full 120 euros net are requested. Have I overlooked something, or am I making a mistake?

Regards…

Uwe

IIRC the difference is due only if the subscription is not already expired.
So, if you still have a valid subscription and you want to move it to a NethSecurity, just write to info@nethsecurity.org and we are going to migrate it.

It’s coming much sooner that we expected: Remote backup for all subscriptions · Issue #664 · NethServer/nethsecurity · GitHub

Hi,
I got an email this week announcing the new subscriptions for Nethserver 8 and Nethsecurity. I was hoping that a combination of both packages would be a bit cheaper for home users (Package deal)
For both subscriptions, it costs a home user about €250.00 a year including local tax.
As an example. I had a subscription with ClearOS for €210.00 for 3 years with more features.
That’s a lot of money for a home user and I have to reconsider whether I will make the switch to Neth or switch to another package. Another option is of course the common version, but then you don’t even get automatic updates.

Where did you read this from?

Well, that is relative and, as always, is in the eye of the beholder. But what price do you expect? It was to be expected that it wouldn’t stay at Crostino’s price for NS 7. Just think about the amount of work the developers had to do. And that should cost nothing or very low? If I want to drive a Porsche, then I also have to pay for the necessary gasoline.
But that’s just my opinion. Everyone can judge that for themselves.

Regards…

Uwe

I agree with your point and yes i don’t have any problem to pay for a subscription, but i was hoping for home users a reduced price level. Home users don’t have the big pockets as a company, but support the community free of charge

Let’s be honest… I don’t think 120 euros for an annual subscription is overpriced. That’s 10 euros a month. The equivalent of a BigBox of cigarettes. And on top of that, they make you ill and kill you, which costs you your life. And since death is not free, that costs money too. I’d rather stick with Nethserver.

Correct, but now you need to subscriptions. NethServer and NethSecurity
If it was only one subscription of €120,00 +21% VAT i understand it completlt

and i don’t smoke

Well…, I don’t use NethSecurity. Therefore, only the price for the Nethserver license concerns me. And I run two of them here. One on sheet metal and one as a VM on Proxmox. I’ll book the second license for this one next month.

Very good. I stopped smoking ten years ago. Have a nice evening.

Actually, i both agree with you as well as disagree with you.

Relatively to your country, its for for a box of cigarette, on my end that’s 17,000/- to give you a perspective, that One Month rent for a large tiled and compund 2 bedroom house. just for perspective…

Contrary to your analogy, This has to be paid once off, at the beginning, if there was a monthly, or quarterly option, it might not be that huge a bill.

@alefattorini i think for both plans, consider Adding an Optional Month and Quartely options.

More on the Quaterly than Monthly sides of billing. this should give you more transaction, as it increases the purchasing power of the suers.

I can easily Pay $30 without thinking, but when its $120 i have to think abit more, i may not be speaking for everyone, but am sure there are many members of the community who wish to support the project by getting a subscription, who also feel the same way, so am speaking on their behalf as well.

Lowering the cst might not actually be the best option, Dev cost is not cheap. Support cost is also not cheap. but offering bundled prices, as well as quartely and maybe monthly payment options, might actually end up increasing your revenue.

IF within reason, and within your projections, you could then offer better discounts for those paid anually, and also volume discounts for those with 3 or more servers

@oneitonitram,

i agree with you. In relation to your country and many other countries with low wages, it is of course completely different. I also thought about that when I replied to @MadPatrick, who lives in the Netherlands and therefore almost in my neighborhood. I also pay ten euros rent here in Germany. But per square meter of living space.

Have a nice day…
