WordPress 6.2 fails with php8.0

Hi I’m using a WordPress Installation within a virtual host with php8.0. Since Update to WP 6.2 I got such error:
" Service Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later."

Even disabling all plugins does not fix the problem. Only switching to the old php7.3 helps.
Because php7.3 is really outdated, I don’t want to use it.

Does anyone have any ideas on how best to deal with this?

I know, the question about other, more current PHP versions has been asked many times.
But I hope there is some way out. I would like to stay with Nethserver 7.9.

Sincerely, Marko

Is you installation the community module made by @stephdl or a self installed version please?

According to this:

PHP8.0 and WP 6.2. is beta

That’s kind of scary–probably the Internet’s most-used CMS doesn’t have production-level support for any supported version of PHP. PHP 7.4 has been EOL since late last year, and even 8.0’s in “security fixes only” mode and will go EOL in November of this year.

I use a lot of years a self installed System within a virtual host.

PHP8.0 and WP 6.2. is beta

Thank you for the hint.

But even if, it wouldn’t help us, because Nethserver 7.9 supports the php versions only limited.
If you use Wordpress on Nethserver, you’ll get lice in your fur as well as fleas.

Limited, yes, but it does support PHP 8.0, which is still supported (albeit not for long). The problem here is Wordpress, not Nethserver.

Hi @capote,

With the last update of Nethserver, the owner/group of directory html got change to root:root, then I was not able to update WordPress.

I put it back to apache:apache and all is now OK.

Thank you for your advice. But I don’t use the default directory because I use a virtual host.
And I don’t have update problems.

Best regards, Marko

this is a true bug I think, I got it myself, the service crashs with php80 that is not understandable, does wordpress is guilty ???

could you catch some logs please
