What are you listening?

I love these laid-back, lazy 6/8th beat blues songs. This one is originally from the Gershwin opera ‘Porky and Bess’ and also other famous singers like Ella Fitzgerald have covered this song.

Sometimes a cover (in Jazz terms a classic)is better then the original;

For me this cover made the original better, as in i listed to the original differently …

Of course the original is from the magnificent Aretha Franklin !

Some kind of mysterious… like going for a long drive into the night…

Let the guitar speak to your senses and heart.
Happy birthday, BTW. :birthday:

Thanks!
And yeah, let the guitar do the talking… it helps…
btw, an acoustic version of “Drive” I just love (had it on repeat)

Ok, I stumbled on a diasporapost by a friend of mine. He posted the U2 song “where the streets have no name”
This took me back to dec 31st 1989 when U2 gave a Europe wide radio broadcasted concert in Dublin.
It’s the recording of the full concert so you better have 1,5 hours time. It would be pure blasphemy to not listen it from start to end…
Enjoy.

These days are wonderful for musicians.
That can develop, produce, deliver songs and themes without have to complain with label’s requests.
It’s harder to find consistend and long-lasting production teams. But you can find a lot of great music, if you want.
Not only the “few awesome guys and girls” of past years.
