Hello what is the funtion of Upstream proxy

Hi

An Upstream Proxy is often found in large enterprises or universitys.
Usually a big, central proxy, which is referred to by departmental proxys.

Rules are usually (for Squid Proxy itself):

  • Check local cache
  • Check upstream cache
  • Fetch direct

NethServer, as most Proxies based on Squid, offer this option, although it’s not that often used.
(Eg, NAS Proxies on Synology or QNap)
