SSL Cerificate using LetsEncrypt and DDNS

I’ve the following use case:

  • I’m using NethServer release 6.10 on an old DELL Dimension 5150. And even if it’s an old slow machine, I was and still be quite happy  with Nethserver and its functionality. Now I want to host my own Web Site at home and did the following.

  • I registered my domain renesigi.ch

  • I’m using www.dynu.com for DDNS

  • On my router I’ve done port (80,443) forwarding to my nethserver device where I’ve installed wordpress.

  • Everything works fine BUT the browsers (Firefox, Chrome and Edge) give me e security exception.

  • Firefox gives me the Error code: MOZILLA_PKIX_ERROR_SELF_SIGNED_CERT

  • So far understandable. Then I used LetsEncrypt (according to https://wiki.nethserver.org/doku.php?id=developer:letsencrypt) to created a valid Cerificate on my maschine. Everything worked fine but still the same security issue by the browsers (MOZILLA_PKIX_ERROR_SELF_SIGNED_CERT).

Any help or hints to solve this problem would be very nice and helpful.

This is my Firefox’s error message when connecting to your web site:

www.renesigi.ch uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed.
The certificate is only valid for .

Error code: MOZILLA_PKIX_ERROR_SELF_SIGNED_CERT

Did you set additional host names for the certificate (SAN)?
