Some Public IP's are unable to ping

Hi,

When I ping some public IP’s, it’s not pinging.
Can u help me out of this.

Please show the output of the failed ping. Something like:

# ping 8.8.8.8
PING 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: icmp_seq=1 ttl=58 time=29.5 ms
# ping 8.8.8.9
PING 8.8.8.9 (8.8.8.9) 56(84) bytes of data.

9 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 8127ms

You say “some” pings. Could it be those hosts are configured with a firewall to not respond to pings.
