I didn’t deliberately do anything, but yum kept just hanging with no output. I found old yum-cron runs that had stalled so I killed them off and now yum can run, but it fails:
Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrorlist.nethserver.org/?release=$releasever&repo=ce-base&arch=x86_64&nsrelease=7.9.2009 error was
Can anyone please help me figure out where the variable is supposed to be set from?

… echo 7 > /etc/yum/vars/releasever saved the day. No idea why it vanished.
