Solidarity with Venezuela: Supporting earthquake relief volunteers

Hi NethServer Community,

As some of you might know, Venezuela has recently been hit by a severe double earthquake, leaving many families in critical conditions. Local volunteers are working tirelessly on the ground to provide first aid, food, and shelter to those affected.

To support their incredible work, I am opening this thread to collect any financial aid possible. Every little bit helps. If you are in a position to donate, please consider sending your contribution via PayPal.

  • PayPal Account: josegjimenez@gmail.com

  • Purpose: 100% of the funds will go directly to purchasing medical supplies, food, and tools for the volunteer rescue teams on the ground.

Transparency Note: I will keep this thread updated with photos of the supplies purchased so everyone can see where their “grain of sand” went.

Thank you so much for your kindness and solidarity. Together, we can make a difference.

Best regards,

We need vitamin K for the bleeding, gauze, and strong painkillers. Your help will ease our burden and we’ll get through this.

I did this as a thank you to you.

It will be on my WhatsApp status

We need to buy medicine urgently. It doesn’t matter if they donate $1

I found someone who would exchange my PayPal account for bolivars without commission, but I’m still $300 short to help with medicine and food.

Friends, don’t abandon me. We want to save as many as we can with medicine and food.

I will be able to reach $300.

Dipyrone

Tramal

Vitamin K

Prophenyl

These are necessary for the aid

God bless you, we’re just $580 away from reaching our goal.

Thank you for your support. My people and I are grateful.

Our beloved Venezuela is going through one of its most challenging moments. The recent double earthquake, followed by continuous aftershocks that refuse to give us a truce, has turned rescue efforts into a race against the clock. Every second is vital to saving lives trapped under the rubble.

Adding to this severe emergency is the reality of our medical centers. Already facing precarious supplies, they are now overwhelmed by the urgent need for basic medical tools, first-aid materials, and essential medicines. Volunteers and healthcare workers are pouring their hearts and souls into the field, but they desperately need resources to keep fighting.

Today, we appeal to the international community, to the friends of Venezuela, and to every compassionate heart out there. No contribution is too small: any grain of sand that brings us closer to our goal is an immense blessing. Your support is not just a number—it is a bandage, a life-saving medicine, a rescue tool. It is quite literally the chance to restore breath and hope to a human being.

Those of us on the ground will ensure that every single donation is directly transformed into relief and aid, maintaining the absolute transparency this cause deserves. May life multiply your generosity with health and blessings for every act of love shown toward our country.

  • Fundraising Goal: $600 (to secure immediate, real-world impact for essential supplies)

  • Donations via PayPal: josegjimenez@gmail.com

From the bottom of our hearts, and on behalf of every life that will be saved and cared for thanks to you: Thank you so very much!

Dear NethServer Community,

I am writing this message to express my deepest gratitude to all of you, and to share a transparent update regarding the recent fundraising initiative for earthquake relief.

First and foremost, I want to thank every single person who stepped up, offered words of encouragement, and provided support. Being part of a community that extends its hand beyond technical borders to help in times of crisis is an honor. I especially want to thank @Alessio and the leadership team for their guidance and constant support; I deeply regret not being able to fulfill my word exactly as planned due to the complex circumstances we constantly face here in Venezuela.

Please know that asking for help is never easy, and my only intention has always been to serve as a bridge to support those in desperate need. Regarding the funds raised, a total of $580 has been fully secured. Given the shifting dynamics and logistical challenges of delivering this aid effectively, I am placing this contribution entirely in God’s hands, ensuring it will be directed with the utmost integrity to fulfill its purpose.

Living and working from Venezuela brings unique, unpredictable challenges that often force us to adapt, pivot, and knock on new doors. However, these obstacles do not diminish my commitment to this community or my faith in better days ahead.

To the NethServer family: you have a brother in me. If any of you ever find yourselves in Venezuela in the future, please know that my home is open to you, and you carry the blessings of my family.

Thank you for standing by me, for your immense generosity, and for proving that NethServer is much more than software—it is a true community.

With deep respect and a strong embrace,

The help I’ve requested has bypassed bureaucracy and filters, but it’s difficult for me to find donations and contacts outside of Venezuela; only you. Many have helped my family after the earthquake, but my mother told me that others needed medicine, so we did. $580 is very difficult for me, but it’s a small goal. Unfortunately, I don’t have the same luck as others.

Brothers and sisters, I’m ashamed to beg for help, but here I am. Please help me share this! Other countries are sending aid that reaches the government, but it’s not reaching the remote or moderately affected areas where there are wounded, survivors, and dead. I beg you to support me by spreading the word, donating whatever you can. God blesses you abundantly, and so do we. But we’re racing against time. Personally, I have loved ones who have passed away, and I’m trying to arrange to bring them back myself. But what we’re raising is for medicine, supplies, and food.

Apology and Reconciliation Message

Dear community brothers and sisters,

I am writing this message to you with the utmost honesty and from the bottom of my heart. I want to sincerely apologize if lately you have felt overwhelmed by me, or if you believe my situation or my life experiences are not genuine. Truly, I have been going through incredibly difficult and complex circumstances lately, which led me to look for an outlet in this space, completely setting aside my professional boundaries.

As a Venezuelan, I am naturally driven by that innate need to talk, to connect, and to seek the brotherhood that so deeply characterizes us. However, I recognize that the pressure got the best of me and I disrupted the group’s dynamic. It has never been my intention to be a toxic presence or to cause any discomfort among you.

I want you to know that I value and appreciate this community immensely. Out of respect for everyone, if you believe it is the right thing to do, I am fully prepared to return the money and move forward on a different path so as not to disrupt the harmony of this space.

I love you all and appreciate you a world. Thank you in advance for your understanding, your time, and your patience.

A big hug,
