Especially, the system should update itself automatically during or just after the first install.

There can be situations where this is not possible/wanted. I’d leave the wheel in the hands of the system administrator.

Why did the installer choose that one and not the locally hosted one ?

Perhaps the answer is in the DNS configuration! Can you provide some details of it? What are the containers IP addresses?

making the AD samba server reside in a linux container with a user defined IP address will more that certainly lead to mistakes and configuration headaches.

I definitely agree! Can we ask that IP address to someone else? DHCP reservation?
