Here Snort cannot download rules. The strange error message is:
011A 500 … please verify that you have recently updated your root certificates!
What the hell does this mean?
Even more strange is that snort starts without any rules but the bandwidth cuts down by 60 %. Maybe everything would run smoother if there were rules.
Any help is welcome to either get Suricata installed or Snort properly working.
I’m not sure where to put the “-w” option.
And I have an oincode also. Where do I enter that?
The whole snort configuration looks a bit half-cooked.
I read that suricata would be the better option. But it cannot be installed because it needs python 2.7.
How are things in NS 7?
