Smb: The service is either not running or not enabled

Greetings.
Last Saturday I updated my NS, and today seeing a new update I see this warning in the services:

image

config show smb
smb=service
    AuditAlias=7fa40ae837965b2c5a82973b81bbc90d86954148
    AuditLogRead=disabled
    DeadTime=10080
    HomeAdmStatus=enabled
    InheritOwner=no
    NetbiosAliasList=
    ShareAdmStatus=enabled
    TCPPorts=139,445
    UseClientDriver=yes
    UseCups=enabled
    WinsServerIP=
    access=green
    status=enabled

Do I just need to start it and trust that it is fixed, or am I facing a more serious problem?

Regards

@MrE

Hi

That depends…

Will the smb service start at all?

If it starts, will it start after the next reboot?

Start it and observe it…

My 2 cents

I will restart the server in the evening to observe the effect.

Thanks Andy!

I just restarted the VM, and smb started correctly. :+1:t3:
As always, “beginner” scares.

Best regards.
