Single domain multiple mail servers

Hello all, Need your ideas / thoughts to achieve the following…
I have single domain
ex: abc.com
I can do multiple subdomains
ex: al.abc.com
ak.abc.com
az.abc.com
and planning to deploy multiple mail servers
ex: mail.al.abc.com pointing to server with IP address a.a.a.a
mail.ak.abc.com pointing to server with IP address a.a.a.a
mail.az.abc.com pointing to server with IP address a.a.a.a

For what i understood you need to set the field MX of your dns provider of each sub.domains (of abc.com) to the relevant IP of the server hosting the mail service

Obviously each mail.*.abc.com must be created also in the dns table of your dns provider

Hint of @stephdl is right only if each server is a different installation (with the correct hostname) and with a different public ip address.
