Installing the latest Rocky 9 on a Proxmox VM to run NS8, with the need for plenty of Nextcloud storage. I’m at the installation summary, where I can configure a few things prior to running the install. Any advise on how I should configure my partition(s)/disk space to allow for plenty of storage space when running Nextcloud (see below). We exchange a lot of large drawing files with our customers, so I’d hate to run out of disk space during future exchanges. Thanks.
For a Rocky Linux VM, a single root partition is the simplest choice, and it’s also what the NS8 prebuilt image uses. The hypervisor can then extend the virtual disk if you run out of space. Keep the default XFS filesystem format.
Make sure Anaconda configures at least 4GB of swap.
More complex partitioning is allowed — refer to the Rocky Linux forums and System requirements | NethServer 8 documentation. Nextcloud also supports an “Additional volume” for file data.
