Retaining the Same IP Address During NethServer 7 to 8 Migration

Guys, I’m finalizing the migration from NethServer 7 to 8, and I would like to know if I can keep the same IP from NS7 on NS8, so that I don’t have to remap the network folders again with the new IP.

NethServer 7 IP = 192.168.147.10
NethServer 8 IP = 192.168.147.20

Even after changing the IP in the network interface, the original IP is still configured in smb.conf.

To change the samba IP:

Nethserver 8 extend drive

You may need to set the new ip in samba too, see also NethServer 7 migration — NS8 documentation api-cli run module/samba1/set-ipaddress --data '{"ipaddress":"192.168.1.123"}'
