on osx, to be able to surf the internet through the browser, I have to manually add the proxy (wpad.dat). when the user comes home and connects to the their home network, they have to remove it. is there a less invasive solution? remove and replace the proxy every time you change the network, it is stressful!

You can also change the proxy to transparent mode, so you don’t need proxy settings.
