Roundcube has a nice feature in their addressbook, the Public LDAP addressbook. I can’t find any similar feature in Webtop. Is there any way to add a Public address book to Webtop? Also, the Collected Recipients in Roundcube would make a great addition.
Hello Jim
I think if you start to write a message you can find members of the ldap. Maybe you want to see the full address-book ?
ok the list of users when you write an email comes from a database, you find it once a user as login one time
cc @lucag What do you think, is it possible to get a roadmap on it ?
Sorry I didn’t reply sooner. Yes, I’d like to see the users as a full address-book, as in Roundcube.
One other thing, I’m currently using a CardDAV connection withing Mozilla Thunderbird to the WebTop address book to sync contacts. It would be handy if that CardDAV connection would also present all addresses. I’ve been working on doing an LDAP connection to the Samba user database from within Thunderbird, but I’m not getting it to work.
Following settings are working in Thunderbird to connect to Samba via LDAP:
You can get the required info from the Samba configuration page, see User domains — NS8 documentation
You would need to enter some letters to search like I entered “Adm” to get the Administrator.
Thanks Markus for the reply. I had something very close to that configured in Thunderbird. The only difference is that I am using the FQDN for the server. But it won’t connect. After getting your response, I tired the IP address as well, and still nothing.
