Postfix & Relaymaps

NethServer Version: 7.6.1810
Module: your_module

Hi everybody,
I’m new to Nethserver and I’m testing it the last days.

I have to configure postfix to use relaymaps as mentioned some time ago in this post.

I followed the guide mentioned there, but no success.
https://wiki.nethserver.org/doku.php?id=howto:how_to_configure_nethserver_for_mail_configuration_with_office365_multiple_mailaccounts

Is this guide still valid?

I’ve found a post which advises a little different approach?

Thanks for any hints!
Regards Pete

With the second post, you will modify the sender address for each account you put in the mentioned file.

Right, but as I know it from ubuntu, I have to change the following files as well:
/etc/postfix/relaymaps
and
/etc/postfix/sasl_passwd

When I change these files, are the changes made permanently or do I have to change some templates. Which templates would I have to change? Is the guide mentioned above still correct?

Sorry, but it is not clear for me what to change and where with Nethserver?

/etc/postfix/relaymaps is not templated and could be edited directly.

/etc/postfix/sasl_passwd is templated so you have to add a new fragment /etc/e-smith/templates-custom/etc/postfix/sasl_passwd/90custom with the changes you need.

To apply the changes and restart the services in case of postfix:

signal-event nethserver-mail-server-update

Thanks for the advises. I’ll try to figure it out.

What about the Guide
https://wiki.nethserver.org/doku.php?id=howto:how_to_configure_nethserver_for_mail_configuration_with_office365_multiple_mailaccounts

Is this one still useable or is it outdated?

Regards Pete

I got it running :+1:

Just to verify, as I understood the Templates guide, I have to add the new fragment 90custom to /etc/e-smith/templates-custom and not to /etc/e-smith/templates as mentioned above, right?

You’re right, I corrected my post.

I had to add a new file named sender_canonical to the postfix directory /etc/postfix.
That shouldn’t be a problem, it shouldn’t be overwritten by any template or other mechanism, right?

Yes, that’s right.

Could you mark this topic as solved please?
