my NS will work behind a firewall and so I’d like to know which ports are needed to validate and renew letsencrypt’s certificate

you need to forward port 80.

AFAIK LetsEncrypt ONLY checks the normal Port for the Website, Port 80. They don’t check https.
As SSL makes sense for https (Port 443) but NOT for http (Port 80), you’ld also need to open Port 443 to make it really usable…
Like NextCloud with SSL access and lots of other neat things…
