OpenSSL engine usage

Hi all,

First of all, I’m a new guy here that is using nethserver for home purposes at first  I’ve tested several others and in short; I don’t like

Main question is, I’m using and working with hardware crypto devices and I would like to change the default OpenSSL engine on nethserver (such as OpenVPN) to use my own one as default. I’ve tried to track it down but I couldn’t find the main openssl binary that nethserver is using except the one in usr/bin. Is it possible to change the default OpenSSL path on the whole nethserver to point it on my own one? It means I can offload ssl/tls from the whole server to my hardware crypto box that is running in a datacenter

Thanks!

Hi, welcome to Nethserver Community!

Nethserver is based on CentOS so you may use one of the following tutorials but replacing the systems openssl may lead to problems. Which openssl version do you want to use?
