Office/Outlook activesynch don´t work

NethServer Version: NS8
Module: Sogo
Good Evening guys, i face a problem today that if iam write a appointment into my Outlook it did not synch correct with the Sogo Server. I use the newest Version from Outlook

it is just the Calender, everything else work fine. Maybe a bug? I am not sure but i change the Outlook version from 2021 to 2024, could this having a problem?

You could try https://caldavsynchronizer.org/
I didn’t test with Office 2024 but it worked well with older versions.

first… i would prefer to work just with activesynch not more progs to do the synch
second i installed caldav under win 11 2024 newest and i am not able to start the caldav programm to do a configuration.

maybe i will return the office to 2021 to see if this is the problem then. but very unhappy with it.

It is an outlook issue.
After then update the sync with calender and contact is broken. This is an known issue if you google it.
Going back to an older version will work.

See for example Outlook Desktop Exchange ActiveSync connections stopped working in Version 2401 - Microsoft Support

Is the Problem, that the sync works only in the direction from Server to Windows, but not from Windows to Server?
If yes, it is perhaps an Windows 11 problem.
But since my posts at Microsoft, i did not test it again.

i tried the caldavsynch but it doesent work with Office 2024 build 2408 so i have to go back and work with the Office 2021, so pity :frowning:

Have you tried this workaround

Until this EAS syncing issue is resolved, Microsoft provides a temporary fix for affected users to revive their Outlook desktop clients.

This requires reverting Office M365 Click-to-Run installations to an unaffected Office build (the suggested build is Version 2312 Build 17126.20132) or switching to an Office Channel that does not have this sync issue.

To apply this workaround, you will have to go through the following procedure:

  1. Disable updates temporarily to ensure Outlook doesn’t automatically update to the broken version from File > Office Account> Update Options>Disable Updates.
  2. Exit all Office applications, Select Start, type cmd in the Search box, right-click Command Prompt (or cmd.exe), and then select Run as administrator.
  3. In the command prompt dialog window, type the following two command lines, pressing Enter after each command line:
  • cd %programfiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun
  • officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.17126.20132
  1. When the repair is done, open Outlook and select File > Office Account.
  2. After the version revert process is finished, launch Outlook to check if it’s operating normally again.

nope, i go for the 2021 version right now, i am a bit busy today, will check it out the next days, thank you for the info @MadPatrick

Hi @hucky ,

sorry, but i want to ask, if this is the problem that i have?
Works the sync of the calendar only in one direction?
Or do the sync generally not work (in both directions)?

Regards

Hello @Mastermind, the problem at my side was only the outlook app, Office 2024 Rev. 2008 did not work. Any other devices like android or ios worked perfectly. i returned to office 2021 and everything ist good again.

Thanks @hucky ,

I understand that with Outlook 2021 on Windows 11 Calendar Sync with EAS works for you.

yes, true… i thought that was your question… and it was only the calendar what was not working with Office 2024, Email and Contacts etc. worked flawless
