I think the problem is, that ntopng webpage shows update message, but it’s not supported, because they want money now.

We currently don’t support ntopng 3. From the official site, you need payed support to upgrade from 2 (see http://www.ntop.org/ntopng/introducing-ntopng-3-0/). I suggest you to remove it and try to manually install the new release, you can try to start from here: http://packages.ntop.org/
