I want to log in to a user account in the Roundcube web interface using the root password. To do this, the server must be set to localhost. However, the server input field is missing here (this was possible in NS7).
Is this possible? How can I do it? Do I need to change any settings?
hum, that was an available feature of NS7, no idea if it is still possible
, now we are in a container, maybe the idea would be to forward the root’s email to another account that you can acces by imap on the system
[root@ns8-leader ~]# mailx
s-nail: No mail for root at /var/spool/mail/root
s-nail: /var/spool/mail/root: No such entry, file or directory
[root@ns8-leader ~]#
in the meanwhile I have no mail to root ![]()
Sorry for the break, but I was on holiday… ![]()
The current situation is as follows: I haven’t been able to find a way to log in to Roundcube using “user*root” as described. So the only option is for each user to log in separately.
PS: I’ve already set up forwarding of root emails to an administrative user. That’s working fine.
So there’s no solution to this issue, but I’d like to bring the discussion to a close here.
I’m now looking into the email archiving module (Mail Piler)…
point to the documentation you read because it is another issue I feel, using *root is to impersonnate the login and I am not sure root can be used, eventually vmail or another user that you can set in the settings master users of the mail server
Bang! That’s it! Absolutely brilliant!
![]()
That was exactly the right tip: impersonate the login using another user, not root!
I have a “built-in administrator user” when I use this username ('user*adminuser'), it works exactly in the same way as in NS7 with ‘user*root’!
My respect and huge praise! Thank you!
