No, there are no planned updates for Nextcloud in NS7. Since its upstream projects have reached end-of-life, upgrading would require updating other unmaintained system components such as PHP and the SQL database, which is unlikely to happen.
Thank you for the information, but this is an unfortunate situation because NS8 is currently unusable for us. We have been testing two test environments for months, but we are constantly and repeatedly experiencing problems in operation, especially after updates, which no one can or wants to solve.
At the same time, there are missing services that cannot be solved under NS8, while it was easy to install on NS7, such as the Firebird database manager.
Internet access protection is unresolved for us, because there is currently no solution like the one in NS7. The Nethsecurity used instead cannot be configured to work properly.
For these reasons, we cannot safely migrate to NS8 and are forced to continue using NS7.
There’s probably a good Docker release of Firebird, and you could run it on NS8 as well. Here’s a video about the ns8-scratchpad module and how to run generic containers with it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuhl9WKh1Uc
To avoid going too far off-topic, please start separate threads for this and other issues, keeping the problems as isolated as possible.
