No updates after purchasing of subscription

NethServer Version: 7.4.1708
Module: Subscription / Updates

Hi friends,

After purchasing the Crostino subscription and registering in the Nethserver, i cant receive updates anymore. var / log / yum.log shows me that the last update for yum-cron- was installed on April 08, 2018. That was a week ago. Will there be no updates after that?
You can see the output of yum update on the attached picture.

Thanks for your help.

yum update

Updates inside the stable repos are pulled from nethserver-updates repository once a week, during Monday evening.

You should see new updates from tomorrow.

Maybe i’m not patient enough. I will wait until tomorrow…

Tomorrow could not be enough  Each system receive updates at different times to avoid excessive load on the infrastructure. What has been published during before the beginning of the past week will be rolled out during this week.

Stable Updates are stable precisely because are slower and safer

A new week starts and still no new updates?
Normal or is there a bug in the system

Let’s do a test

rpm -q nethserver-lang-en

You can also test for automated updates by looking at /var/log/yum.log

[root@Nethserver ~]# rpm -q nethserver-lang-en
[root@Nethserver ~]#

And looking at /var/log/yum.log, here are the final entries:

Apr 09 00:55:30 Installed: yum-cron-3.4.3-154.el7.centos.1.noarch
Apr 09 00:55:31 Installed: nethserver-yum-cron-1.0.0-1.ns7.sdl.noarch
Apr 09 00:55:38 Installed: puppet-agent-1.6.2-1.el7.x86_64
Apr 09 00:55:39 Installed: nethserver-subscription-3.0.1-1.ns7.noarch
Apr 09 00:55:41 Installed: nethserver-subscription-ui-3.0.1-1.ns7.noarch

** Update **

Sorry, forgot to add, that no e-mails received:

Where to check to see if anything has been downloaded.

If you can’t see updates from the software center page, please try with

yum clean all
yum update

And attach the complete output

Probably you still don’t see the expected updates because they are buffered. This is what is going to be released during this week by sb-* repositories:

RPMs up to Upstream repo name
Apr 16 15:56 nethserver-updates
Apr 15 12:30 epel
Apr 11 09:11 centos-sclo-rh
Apr 9 23:59 updates (CentOS)
Apr 3 10:24 extras

In other words, the minimum age of an RPM from sb-* repositories is one week. In practice, given the way we work and we push RPMs, the final effect is about 15-10 days delay.

Upstream updates can be installed manually with

yum clean all
yum --enablerepo=<reponame1>,<reponame2>,... update

For instance

yum clean all
yum --enablerepo=nethserver-updates,updates update

What I’ve said here is not correct. That should be

What has been published before the beginning of the past week will be rolled out during this week.

Seeing as my subscription started just before the Apr 9 CentOS updates, I’ll wait for a few more days before I go to the Software Center or run any yum commands.
