Just posting in case anyone else is looking for a solution (which took me a while to find). A recent update (nextcloud 2.0.9) caused an issue where External Storage SMB shares wouldn’t open or download files correctly/fully - showing corruption.

I can confirm the fix works.
While I connect to the Nethserver File Share via SMB in NextCloud, it would be nice to connect it as ‘Local Storage’ direct to the drive. The only issue with that is that the share folder would need to be owned by www-data group etc.
