NethServer Version: NS8
Module: Nextcloud 1.5.0
This evening I updated NextCloud from 1.4.3 (I think) to 1.5.0.
- Since the update I get the following in a pop-up both in the admin user and all other regular users.
Please enable server side encryption in the admin settings in order to use the encryption module.
I don’t want server side encryption because it is slow already. Enabling encryption will only slow it down more. It is not enabled.
How do I get rid of this incessant pop-up?
- While looking for a solution to the pop-up above, I found the following in the Security settings. I’m not sure if it is related.
**Default encryption module**
Encryption app is enabled but your keys are not initialized, please log-out and log-in again
Log-out & log-in does nothing. I’m not sure what this encryption is doing and how it was enabled. Where do I find some info about how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.

You could disable the default encryption module:

Thank you @mrmarkuz . I did a seach and didn’t find this. Apologies.
Disabling “default encryption module” removed this warning.
I don’t ever remember enabling a “default encryption module” and the one place in the settings doesn’t have a switch to disable.
Ah, found it. It is an app.
This apparently is being discussed in the Nextcloud community regarding Hub 10 and on github.
For anyone who looks in the future, here is what I did to disable the default encryption.
Settings → Apps → Active apps,
find the Default encryption module and click Disable
Thank you Markus!
