There is a new version of SavaPage available.

Iā€™d like to update savapage to 1.3.0-rc.
What do you think, is a print server that extends CUPS still needed in NethServer? Are there some testers out there?

IMO SavaPage is the only really workable opensource project that actualy enables a sysadmin to manage the printers. Al other opensource options only provide a printcue and drivers and have no fail-safe option in print volume monitoring.
Even if you donā€™t want to let users pay for prints, it is invaluable to know the printer usage.
That said, I do think it would be a great asset for NethServer to have the latest version of SavaPage available.

And i personally thank you for the effort. I am not going to use that custom module you adapted, but i found useful that users who love SavaPage should stand up at least as testers :wink:
So summoning Alessio is the natural behaviour, IMVHO to understand how many users are gonna be interested :wink:

SavaPage 1.3.0-rc is ready for testing:

yum --enablerepo=nethforge-testing install nethserver-savapage

Browse to https://<NETH>:8632/admin and login with user admin and password admin.

Thereā€™s also a user portal for uploading files and printing at https://<NETH>:8632/user

Check out the manual to see how it works.

Thanks for the effort! I will have a look at a test machine. I hope I can get my printer to work, since it has some clogging problems.
