Yes sir, and thank you and the team. Well said!
I believe that Nethvoice is One of the Best, If not the Best Fully Opensource PBX Solution Out in the Market Right now. and We appreciate the tremendouse Efforts Made by your Developemtn Team, Nethserver and NEthesis.
Initially When i wanted to inquire on the Impossed Limits, THis is what Came to My mind First. Couldnt Someone Froke, Re-implemnt the Limitations, but they are on their own.
But it Dawned on me, for someone who is willign to do something like this, they will never pay for such a solution no matter what you do.
I have been following Extremely Keenly the Developemnt of NEthvoice, and its One of the Projects that Motivated me to Build a ton of Apps for NEthserver 8, just by the premise of what could be achieved, I have seen all the Efforts, PR, commits and arguments presented in the Github repo.
I think the Biggest Issue we are Facing right now is just a fear on the Licensing Model to be presented, or the cost implications.
PErhaps it would have been better to Announce Nethvoice together with the Pricing Plans,
However, you would also not be getting the kind of feedback you are getting right now.
Which i beleive might help you better Shape up a Pricing Plan that works for Everyone, the community, Your customers, and For Nethesis to be able to Fund and Develop NEthvoice and Foster the Growth of Nethserver as a whole.
TBH, i have Searched and Looked Alot, and from what i have seen, Most Great Opensource PBX Solutions HAve either gone defunct, Stopped receiving PR, or not being maintained.
We definetly dont want such a thing for Nethvoice.
So yes, you will Kinda be getting some Backlash.
@giacomo Undrstand that this is teming from, Alot of users were using FreePBX in Nethserver 7, WHile not Great as NEthvoice, they did not really have Said Limits
But i think it would be great to work with the community for something that works.
I myself am rooting for a commercial sense in PBX as we Need and dont have a great Alternative in Africa. Not just Kenya and East Africa, so maybe we could grow with Nethvoice
I couldn’t have explained it better, thank you @giacomo
could you consider adding support for YEaster GSM gateways, as those are most common to get on our ends.
All those you have here NethVoice — NS8 documentation
we have no idea where to get from
A post was split to a new topic: Some questions about NethVoice
Not at the moment, they aren’t so common and we [ I ] hope to abandon hardware and go only VoIP. But they can be configured manually, every FreePBX HowTo should work, keeping in mind that you should use the proxy
Please be aware that in some parts of the world the infrastructure developed differently then maybe in western Europe. I know from experience that e.g. in Africa and Middle east, the cellular infra is much more common to the masses then PSTN, so also the telco offerings in both services and hardware are very much solely focussed on the Cellular/G5 infra and heavy usage.
So “aren’t very common” depends on where you are/travel/live in the world. Please search Celtel / Zain.
I strongly feel Nethserver should also take this into account and have a more global mindset and approach. Hence the forum userbase spread. Don’t get me wrong, I like Italian, but there is more in the world ![]()
Just saying.
In Africa, We skipped Banking, and went straight to Mobile Money. we have the most developed in the world.
We skipped Landline, PSTN and others, and went straight to Mobile.
In Kenya, 95% of government services are all Digital. including the most straightforward way to file and pay taxes.
Yearstar is so far the most widely used telephony equipment vendor in Non Developed parts of the.
This will be a Huge Mistake, and catastrophic even.
I understand you need to srike a balance, lets provide Options if there can be direct support.
Example, While you don’t support other brands, it would be prudent to document, highlight or point to a documentation that actually works for Nethvoice.
I might have the patience to research, someone else might not, and just wants something that just works.
I agree for all of the the above reasons. Let alone all the alarm systems, personal safety systems, legacy CCTV systems, IOT devices depending on cellular systems etc etc., Cell gateways in MENA and Africa,India, South east Asia and a lot more regions.
I have been eying the potential integrations between Zammad and NEthvoice, and since Nethvoice is now released, its time to shoot.
Would it be or could it be made possible to have an integration between nethvoice and zammad.
I came accross this as a potential starting point martinvonwittich/asterisk-zammad-cti-bridge: A bridge between an Asterisk server (via AMI) and the Zammad CTI interface. (github.com)
Zammad already has a CTI interface CTI Integration | Zammad Features
Might be an initial idea of how to get this done?
Interesting… we don’t have plans at the moment
I don’t know if there is any chance to contribute @Stll0 ?
@Stll0 hello?
Are there plans to implement and add international Voip provider not just the ones in Italy?
@Stll0 is there a way to add twilio?
Not really: adding a new provider is usually done with a sponsorship from the provider itself.
In fact, to add a new provider you need to:
- have access to a working trunk to test
- add the configuration for automatic provisioning
- keep the configuration tested and working across the releases
IF I provide one from our market, would you be ok to add it as a trunk?
Probably yes.
Please write privately to @mrchiao for more commercial details.
Beware he will return from holidays next week.
If you do not get any response, please ping me back ![]()
Hi @alefattorini
What application are you using in the picture (softphone ?)
Thanks,
There is the CTI user sofphone, there is the Operator Panel included in NethVoice,
and there are native apps for both Android and iOS.
Please see the product page.
