Hi all,
My goal is to install Jitsi, Mattermost/add-onJitsi and Matrix/with-a-link-to-Jitsi on three VMs connected to the NS gateway server.
I only have one real LOCAL domain which is toto.org, so I created subdomains at the registrar: jitsi.toto.org and mattermost.toto.org along with CNAMEs: www.jitsi.toto.org, mail.jitsi.toto.org, etc … as well as www.mattermost.toto.org, mail.mattermost.toto.org, etc …
Question:
(Presently I am trying only with jitsi.toto.org.)
● For the redirection, is it enough to create a DNS entry in the NS gateway server for each of the domains (jitsi.toto.org, mattermost.toto.org, and toto.org along with their IP addresses) or do you have to create redirections for all of the “CNAME.domain.tld” with the Reverse Proxy, which will create entries in Server Alias?
● What to do with the FQDN (server.domain.tld) - create a redirection with the the Reverse Proxy or just directly create a Server Alias for each of them ?
The problem is that yesterday I created redirections for each of the CNAMEs including jitsi.toto.org (which created Server Aliases entries for each them).
It didn’t work even after restarting httpd
on the VM server and on the NS gateway server, clearing the DNS cache and the browser cache on the workstation.
I deleted the redirection for jitsi.toto.org and its alias. I created a DNS entry for jitsi.toto.org.
It didn’t work even after restarting httpd
on the VM server and on the NS gateway server, clearing the DNS cache and the browser cache on the workstation.
I left everything like it was and closed the VM. Tomorrow is another day !
This morning I restarted the VM and it worked !
Any suggestion will be welcome,
Michel-André
