Nethserver php 5.4

Hi to all,
I’m newbie on NethServer Version: 7.9.2009 and I need to change default PHP version to 7.x also for Cockpit and virtualhots.
I ask that because I’ve done vulnerability scanning and PHP 5.4 are deprecated.

Can anyone help me to completely set by default PHP 7.x?

Hi Roberto

Only the base uses PHP 5.4 - as defined by RedHat.
AFAIK, Cockpit, Nextcloud all use more current versions of PHP (Up to 7.3…).

For vhosts, you can choose which PHP version you need.

Security fixes for most packages are backported by upstream.

CentOS keeps the same major/minor versions of (at least) any significant packages through a release’s life cycle, which does result in some pretty old versions of software. They do backport security fixes for those packages, though, so you aren’t left with vulnerable software.
