Nethserver locale

(Ralph) #1

Hello,

how can I change the environment variable in Nethserver from “LANG=en_US.UTF-8” to “LANG=de_DE.UTF8”? I’m not familiar with Centos.

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

Go in the software center.
And install the german language

Edit: If it for a physical keyboard plug on the server, for the CLI

If you need to change the language of the web interface, follow Jim advice.
If you want to change the system language, you need to manually edit @/etc/sysconfig/i18n@.

Thanks. I want to change the system language. Are there any constraints if I change sysconfig?

No, the system language is used almost only for command line.
IMHO, a command line in English is much better

It depends. Postgresql creates its cluster in the system language. A database cluster in american English is not very helpful.
