Samba (AD) already has a DNS server and clashes with dnsmasq.

I did not understand this correctly. How does the name resolution work then and how should it be installed.
Samba AD/DC will handle internal DNS queries. dnsmasq dns is not needed in that case.
Most firewall/gateway features from ns7 are meant to be handled elsewhere (nethsecurity or another hardware/virtual firewall, main router, etc.)
