I am trying in an internal network nethserver 8 as an email server to give email alerts from printers (Lexmark ,Epson) when they have problems. Although at the application level using Roundcube,Thunderbird, Outlook the emails go between two internal accounts, the printers fail to authenticate and use the account of assigned email. I tried on the server with Openldap/Samba collaborated with Login/Plain, Ntlm.The other options Cram-MD5,Digest-MD5,Kerberos 5 seem even more complicated.Has anyone managed something like this.

use “No autenthication required” and enter the IP of the printer in the Mail-Relay setting for the permitted IP addresses. Then it will work.
However, the setting Sender/login synchronization required must then remain deactivated.
