Hi all,
Desaster stroked my NethServer-7.9.2009. The disk went to holiday and also some of the hardware.
Luckyly I had backups from NehServer itself and from BackupPC.
I changed the hardware for a new one.
I both restored from the NS backup and another time from BaclupPC.
With both restoration Thunderbird and Webmail sending mail gives error but receiving mail is OK.
Thunderbird

Webmail

I created a new user and same problem.
Any help will be appreciated,
Michel-André
EDIT:
All the web sites are working correctly.
I only had to adjust the NIC cards.
Hi all,
I restored my main server: toto.org to a virtual machine in Proxmox about 10 days ago. Just in case…
I changed the name to toto-dev.org and used another IP addres on LOCAL LAN.
I modified the wp-config.php of the website on toto-dev.org to point to the new name of toto-dev.org.
Rebooted the server.
Using the IP address, I was able ro reach the website on toto-dev.org without any problem.
Now I am testing to solve the mail problem on toto-dev.org (the same problem as the one I have on toto.org). as I do not want to get the problem worse on toto.org.
Loging to toto-dev.org/webmail as michelandre
.
The problem is exactly the same as the one on toto.org as I restored the same way to toto-dev.org as I did yesterday and today to toto.org.
The mail problem looks like coming from the restoration.
So, I decided to uninstall email-nethserver from toto-dev.org.
The mail folder was not deleted at all.
I reinstalled email-nethserver
on toto-dev.org.
I login to toto-dev.org/webmail witout problem. The inbox was empty.
In /var/lib/nethserver/vmail
, I renamed the mail folder of michelandre@toto.org to michelandre@toto-dev.org.
After the rename of the folder, the inbox had all the emails that michelandre
received before.
The best part, michelandre@toto-dev.org was now able to send email.
The sent email were not delivered exactly but root@toto-dev.org received the emails sent by michelandre@toto-dev.org and all the sent emails were in the mail queue.
It looks like if I delete and reinstall the email-nethserver
from toto.org, the users will be able to send mail.
Question:
Is that a solution or someone has a better way to solve this problem ?
Proxmox is the best tool to test anything…

Hi all,
On original toto.org I deleted nethserver-mail
. It complained about the cache, as suggested, I deleted the cache.
I reinstalled nethserver-mail
. It complained again about the cache, as suggested, I deleted the cache again. But still error on sending email.
Rebooted.
Deleted it again, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted; same error.
Finaly at the command line
# yum reinstall nethserver-mail-server.noarch
# yum reinstall getmail.noarch mailcap.noarch mailx.x86_64 nethserver-roundcubemail.noarch perl-Email-Valid.noarch roundcubemail.noarch sendmail-milter.x86_64
# yum reinstall libopendkim.x86_64 opendkim.x86_64
After some time to stabilize, mail worked perfectly. A real miracle !
