Need new migration from 7.9 to 8

NethServer Version: 7.9 and 8
**Module:**Nextcloud

Hello, I migrated the NethServer v7.9 to v8 last week. But we had a flood. The new v8 server is down.

I had to restore to another machine, but v8 hadn’t finished the migration when I made the backup.
I still have v7.9, but I can no longer restart the migration. It says “migration complete.” Can I restart the migration from v7.9 to get the latest data?

Thank’s for your help

Hi Elberton,

I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

Yes, you can restart the migration. Please follow these steps:

Hi thank"‘s.

That ok for 7.9, nextcloud is go back.

But when i try to reconnect to the v8, he say migration completed.

I have remove the package.

I have delete this :

config delete ns8
config delete wg-quick@wg0
config delete agent
After doing that, I was able to re-enter the parameters.

But it immediately displays "migration completed."

I think I must have forgotten to delete some things in the v7.9 configuration.
If I connect to a different cluster, it tells me:
Some apps have already been migrated: it is not possible to disconnect at this point.

i do that /usr/sbin/ns8-abort nethserver-nextcloud

and now i can restart the migration.

I I’ll keep you updated

Migration was OK. All fine. but i can’t install onlyoffice to open document from nextcloud.

I have this message in the sofware center  Updates are suspended

There is an ongoing NS7 migration. Updates will resume once the migration is complete.

In the node option. I have node 1 all ok. But i have node 2 migration in progress.

I have read in the forum we weed to wait 12hours.

In the v7.9 i click finish et it’s deconnected.

Did you run multiple join/leave attempts? There can be some migration leftovers in the Redis DB.

Yes, two conditions are evaluated to consider a migration finished in any case:

  1. system uptime > 12 hours and
  2. the NS7 node VPN seen > 12 hours

However I’d remove the NS7 node with the documented procedure: Release notes — NS8 documentation
