MySQL fails after config-restore

MySQL is failing after a config-restore trying mysql command an it says:

[root@nethserver ~]# mysql
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user ‘root’@‘localhost’ (using password: YES)
[root@nethserver ~]#

What can I do?

Just restore the data backup and everything will be set up.

Ok probing this weekend and restoring the machine again.
