I see a Webinar from Nethesis about the News of Nethsecurity 8.7 and i see that there is a tab “Active Flows” that i don’t have, is only for nethsecurity with a subscription?

It seems a brand new feature, see Realtime monitoring: active flows · Issue #1465 · NethServer/nethsecurity · GitHub

Hi

So is not currently available?

I don’t think so, I tried the most recent testing version and it wasn’t included.

Ok so is only for subscription only?
Maybe some Dev’s of Nethesis can have the answer about it.

I don’t think that it’s for subscription only as from the screenshot it seems to replace the “Real time traffic”.

Maybe is not implemented yet even in the testing version you have try it, will come out in the 8.8 version?

Hello

not at the moment, the feature hasn’t been released yet to the dev branch at the moment.

Although you might have noticed that we updated netifyd to v5, that will feed actively the new flows page.

At first we thought about it, but not at the moment, we’ll keep both of the views, we’ll see how it goes (some flows might not get picked up by the new tool, while the real time traffic will get all the traffic)

My estimation is that it will pop up in testing pretty soon, a probably a week give or take

I am advocating against this, however seems that the train is going into the “subscription only”.

My point is that if you don’t have a subscription you won’t get the ~2K application detection and you have only ~10% of them, so this flow visualization becomes unhelpful instead of allowing you to keep track of what is going on.

Here’s a preview of current running build:
