Modify a backup

Good morning,

i need some help as i’m not a system expert. I’m running nethserver 7.9.2009, and my backup configuration is this:

now… i restored a Qnap TS 659 PRO, and I would like to backup the entire system (emails, documents, pictures… everithing) via NFS. The configuration on nas works fine.

Can you please help me to edit the backup conf in order to do a complete snapshot of the system? I can’t edit excluded paths or included paths, i think there’s some file.conf i need to edit with nano.

Yes, it’s /etc/backup-data.d/custom.include and /etc/backup-data.d/custom.exclude, see also Backup customization — NethServer 7 Final

Hi Markus. thank you for your reply. If I edit the custom.include end i only let “/”, the backup will be for the entire system?
I’ve read the doc you linked, but i can’t figure out what i need to do for the complete system backup. I understand rsync restic and so on, but i can’t understand the editing of the files. Sorry for the bothering.

Usually you don’t need to change those includes and excludes to backup your system.
For example some app configs are included to be in the backup and backups are excluded to not backup a backup.
