Mail Info coming from where?

NethServer Version: 7.8
Module: Stephdl Repo

@stephdl

Salut Stephane

At a client with a NethServer running with Guacamole and your Repo for a few components we’re getting a mail about updates…

We never entered in an e-mail address, nor did we put in any smarthost or any email information, yet the server is sending mail to the clients internal Exchange Server to the admin.

How can this be turned off?

Andy

Note:

The client uses both the

domains. Where does this info come from?
The NethServer is running in their DMZ. Server “dryshoc” is the NethServer.

I’d be grateful for ANY feedback, I’m stumped with where it get’s the e-mail address from and how it knows where to send mail to…

My 2 cents

The mail is sent with the script /sbin/e-smith/check4StephdlUpdates and it runs via the cron job /etc/cron.daily/check4StephdlUpdates.

Mails are sent to root and admin@NETHDOMAIN and it seems to work with the Exchange Server that may allow sending mail without authentication.

you can remove it but the next upgrade of my rpm will bring it back

What about an empty custom template?

EDIT:

OK it’s not templated. Won’t work.

no because this file is pushed whatever your changes . I would like to take this opportunity of publicity to write the full message, I know that few people read it  thank @Andy_Wismer
