Limit the bandwidth for uploads and downloads

good morning everyone wanted to know the exact rules to be applied to the firewall nethserver
to limit the upload bandwidth and download maybe by member

We can’t limit the bandwidth because for us it’s not smart and optimized but on NethServer you can give more/less priority to some IP or services

Traffic shaping allows to apply priority rules on network traffic through the firewall. In this way it is possible to optimize the transmission, check the latency and tune the available bandwidth.

We’re working also on this, testing is very welcomed!

Current implementation of traffic shaping has 2 limitations: - it supports only …rules based on destination port or source ip - the web interface is not integrated with firewall configuration, and often users forget to set the bandwidth of red interfaces Proposed changes: - [x] Allow the creation of complex rules also with nDPI support. Example: during the office hours, facebook traffic has low priority - [x] Expand the "Firewall rules" page: add the "low priority" and "high priority" actions on rule creation - [x] Move bandwidth configuration of red network interface inside the "Network" page - [x] Remove the "Traffic shaping" page
