And looking at the page I realized I’ve never updated the underlying distro since I installed it… so off to the console I went.
There’s so much to miss about NS7.

Yeah, a bot is in the making that alerts the forums about OS updates.

Yeah, dnf-automatic-notifyonly is probably the way to go but… in the end NS8 … not Nethsecurity but Nethserver is a just enough hodgepodge that as more time goes on and I read more posts on this forum I don’t see how it’s better than rolling your own. There are dozens of way for admins to run Nextcloud, almost as many ways to run samba AD and file sharing, idk anymore. The old days of a true, relatively trouble free, all in one server distro seem to be gone. I’ve actually migrated a couple of non profits from this open source ideal to 365, basically no headache for me and no headache for them, plus they have the non profit pricing which is a lot less expensive than the 2 days I wasted on Nethsecurity.
Really is a shame but that’s life.
