Joining my new NS8 to a Windows Server 2012 AD

I am having a terrible time joining my new NS8 to a Windows Server 2012 AD. I choose External provider, fill in the domain, (I’ve used both just the domain and the full hostname of that AD controller) fill in the hostname, port=389, all the other information. It says it connects, but won’t list users or groups. I then go to Samba and try to join it there, but get this error:

Active Directory domain #####: no changes needed to IP routing configuration.
<4>agent.ldapproxy: domain ##### should not be used by samba1. Invoke agent.bind_user_domains([“######”]) to fix this warning.
<3> Address resolution error: session terminated by server

I’ve #'d out the domain, I don’t know if I really need to, but the domain I’m using is listed.

Since I didn’t get any responses quickly, which is fine, I trashed the VM and reinstalled, and it worked the next time.
